Learn from the best!  Driving Unlimited Academy offers a proprietary curriculum based on international research which was the first of its kind in Canada. Our Class 5/7 Graduated Licensing Program features curriculum developed as a result of European research called the Hermes Project, which has become recognized in BC as the highest standard for training new drivers. Implementing best practices from around the world, we have designed our programs especially for the Canadian driver. Right from the start, our students learn to take full responsibility for their driving during their driving lessons. This results in new drivers who are better prepared when they begin to drive on their own.

Coaching vs. Instructing

We call our instructors “coaches” as there is a significant difference between simple instructing and coaching. With coaching, student drivers are trained to make good decisions and to think for themselves. Our proven methods teach students to take responsibility for decision-making from an early stage. Students who learn to depend on a steady stream of instruction will not be properly prepared to make their own decisions when they drive without a co-driver watching over them. This is a critical period for new drivers – a time when crashes are most likely to happen. Our coaching methods ensure students are accustomed to making safe decisions independently.

We have a program that is right for you, whatever your needs. Whether you are interested in a full Class 5/7 Graduated Licensing Program (GLP) or individual lesson packages, we have something to help you achieve your goal of becoming a safe and confident driver.

Our GLP programs are the most popular. Parents appreciate the high level of detail in both the in-car lessons and the theory classrooms.  We focus, not only on skill development, but also address driver impulsivity and risk tolerance.  Students say they really enjoy the classes and, while learning about driving, they also learn important lessons about themselves.

Students like the flexibility of our lesson packages, where lesson content is matched to the students experience levels so we can closely address the student’s needs.
